Default Re: Gas in the Charcoal Canister

OK I started taking everything apart. This is a capture of the parts to date:

Since I cleaned the cover, there has been more leakage:

Leakage from the charcoal canister onto the shield
Leakage from the charcoal canister onto the shield

I got the fuel filter and and pump off the car. This is the main line draining into gas can.

The left over hoses. I will need to replace the hose bottom left. It goes to the gas tank.

Next steps:
Measure the current hoses and get the right size high pressure clamps.
Paint the fuel filter and pump bracket. It needs some TLC.
Test the Canister Shutoff Valve.

Does anybody know the purpose of the canister shutoff valve?
