Crossfire wheeled luggage as a carry-on???
Anybody have practical experience using our Crossfire wheeled bag as a carry-on. It is slightly over sized, but does sort of crush down. It possibly could ram down into one of the fitting racks I have seen, but .....? Is it usually a practice that if it just doesn't fit, they will tag and put it in their baggage hold. I have a 3 day trip for a wedding and trying to avoid checking it. Any experiences ?????
I've used it as a carry-on. On bigger planes it will fit with the wheels in, but it really depends on the plane you are flying. The little commuter planes have small luggage racks and you end up taking most of the space in one of the pods. If there's no space, they will tag it at the jetway.
It's actually smaller than my TravelPro wheeled carry-on I've used for many years. The TravelPro I have was the industry standard wheeled bag for carry-on's used for years before others copied it. I refuse to let those gorillas trash my Crossfire wheeled luggage so I never check it. You'll be fine.
Have used mine alot and never had an issue or questioned if it was a carry-on.But like they said depending on the plane they may check it at gate which is no charge.Thats all i try to take anymore, can really fit alot in it.
Howard, just to be sure you can check the Airlines website for carry on weight and size limitations. They are always listed. Then no surprises at the airport.
I've used mine for five years -- international as well as domestic. It fits in the overhead bins no problem on real planes and goes planeside check-in on the smaller planes. The only negative is that it has gotten beaten up, especially the "leather look" front panel with the insignia. The handle, wheels, and zippers are all fine. I'd estimate it has taken 50-60 trips, not counting being thrown in the trunk of the car for lots of road trips. The only place it barely fits is in the trunk of the roadster.
Given the wear and tear, I'm glad I purchased a second and third (SRT6) set when they were available real cheap over the last few years. So I still have two pristine sets.

I never carry mine on, fly 10+ times a year and haven't ever had a problem. Why not just check it? My carry on is my backpack and I make it lean before flying. Only iPad, Mac, mac power cable, and a change of clothes, and I stow it under the seat in front of me.
Glad to hear the luggage is so great. I've never taken mine out of the plastic bag they came in.
(They're going to be a sales "perk" on a car I don't plan on selling).
