You think they could have come up with a better picture than that?

No kidding! And, "2006" SRT-6? WTF?

On the other hand, IMHO it was a matter time before our cars got the recognition and respect they deserved.

I've seen two of them in the Dallas area and must say they looked VERY sexy.

IMO it's way cooler looking than the roadster.
Biggest flaw was there was no space to store the removable top section in the car.
I'd still love to have one.

The biggest problem with the Crossfire SRT6 is that no one really knows about it, but that is changing. An out of production car, in it's limited numbers with AMG/Mercedes behind it, and it's classic styling, it's a keeper in anyone's book; certainly mine. I always like the Crossfire, thought it was a neat car, but I just didn't have a need for one, but when I heard about the SRT6 it didn't take me long to justify buying one. I haven't been disappointed! If I was going to compare it to any car, I would pick a Sunbean Tiger; it too went virtually unnoticed for awhile.

I almost bought a solstice coupe off the showroom floor in its final year. I loved them then and now. Tight cabin but very rare and collectable. Fun to drive too. Oh well. ...

Wow. Chalk me up as another who had no idea there was a Solstice couple. MUCH better looking than the roadster. Then again, this is coming from the guy who thinks the BMW Z3 hatch is a real looker, so I may have strange tastes.

Sometimes I kick myself for not getting an SRT-6, but I really, really wanted that manual transmission. If Fox is right, I may be running out of time to pick one up for cheap!

Don't forget one reason to buy now is because they are undervalued. Also three of the five have 4 cyl engines and one a V8, the only 6 was the crossfire. Made my choice failrly simple. OTOH if the Solstice/Sky had a 6 cyl/6speed, I would have probably bought one of them.

Only limiting factor which few will care about is that all of the main parts were hand-me-down from the discontinued 320SLK and not current (and sometimes not the best choice).

Even with a 2.0 four cylinder, the Turbocharged Solistice had 260 H.P.
It would walk all over an NA XF in the 1/4 mile.
But considering you would probably put a 2.55 gear in it, then it really wouldn't matter.

I looked at the Solstice and Sky but when I learned of the low volume custom coached AMG 349hp srt6, there was no decision needed. Especially since my roadster was cheaper than a sky at the time. No brainer. Now I have a ferrari jr. for chicken feed with good parts sources for the future.

Here's some photos I took of a Solstice Coupe in Sept. 2009 at the Texas Motor Speedway. In the first and second photos you can see our Crossfires in the background getting ready to go out to the track.

I knew this when I bought it. I just didn't know how long it would take. It was great to see that!

Well good luck to him for finding a buyer with $45 cash for a Solstice. For having to A/C garage it 5 years, his ROI would have had better returns in the stock market between 2009 and 14.

This article makes me happy. I am always shocked at how many compliments I get on the car and surprised this is the first Article I have seen like this. Hell the other day I parked infront of a Twin Peaks and I swear every person who left the place gave my car the hairy eyeball of lust.

I just missed a GXP at a local dealer for 12k...it was a dark blue one. I would buy one today for that if I could find one. They are begging for a small block chevy. Reminds me of the days of Norm Paddack's Opel GT hemi....
