New to me rare roadster
Over the years I've collect most of the different size Crossfire models, from the Sharper Image CD player to the 1:43 Norev roadster and the different Maisto models and all the ones in between, but have never run across anything like this. Although it appears from the search archives there has been some inquirers about a roadster like this in the past.
It was destiny that I was able to rescue it from an unknown future.

No, but it's an 05 originally purchased in one of those magical nine southern states. I think their extended TSB should cover the replacement. I'll just tell them the whole top blew off when the rear window fell out.
In all seriousness it doesn't appear it has any attachments or slots for a top so I doubt one came with it. I found it in a church thrift store, had a price of fifty cents on it. Needed to use the clay bar, then detailed and waxed. Also had to source a pair of mirrors since the original one were missing. It's made out of plastic and is smaller then a 1:18 but bigger then a 1:24.
I've never seen a model roadster this size before, had to do a double take when I saw it at the thrift store.

I also have one of those. It has surprising accurate detail on the dash and center column.
Underneath the car it says Chrysler Crossfire Daimler Chrysler Corporation 2004 - ES Toys.
Before yours I had not seen another one.

Thanks for the post Toolman. I'm sure these were made in the masses and sold as inexpensive plastic toys for little kids to play with. As you stated it has the same markings as yours with the 2004 date. That's why when I went to the local dealership yesterday they told me the top wouldn't be covered under the recall because it only applied to 05 roadsters. Go figure! Not only that but I couldn't provide the correct VIN number.

This is a size comparison to one of the RC models I have. The roadster has a slightly longer wheelbase.
Threads like this are a sure sign of long Alaskan winters.
