Orange Crossfire
I've never seen an Orange Crossfire before. Right now there is one on ebay. I first assumed it was a repaint, but if it was, it's very good. The engine compartment is Orange, and there is no evidence of repaint around the door jam decals. I checked the Chrysler paint chart and there was no Orange for the Crossfire. In addition, the 2006 Crossfire Brochure does not show it. Any other thoughts or explanation?

It's my favorite color, it's the color I always planned on using if I found another XF that may need a paint job.
IMO, there's no way it's factory.
If the car was a coupe, and a 6 spd. I'd be all over it.
But on 2nd. thought, it seems I remember seeing a photo of a coupe that looked very similar to it somewhere on the web a while back. At the time I just dismissed it as being red with bad lighting. But it was a bright sunny day just like the photo of the roadster.

It reminds me of the color Dodge used on their Copperhead concept car. Yes that is a unique color but I must assume it's a rotisserie repaint, I've never heard of a Crossfire in that color.
From the e-Bay listing just above the questions...
"On Mar-11-15 at 06:39:09 PDT, seller added the following information:
Color is a crystal red. This car has not been repainted"

I just clicked on the 'Auto Color' button in Picasa 3 and got this result.
The colors look normal now.
Makes me wonder if whoever wrote up the e-bay listing actually ever saw the car in person and was working only from the photos. Why else would it be described as "copper/orange" when it is red in the real world?
I'll make it redder, watch this space.

I wrote to them yesterday, (as other Crossfire owners probably did) and asked if they knew the actual name of the color that was used to "repaint" the car.
Please do, so we stop all this orange talk. I have to admit though, it would be cool, also Chryslers deep copper from the late '60s. I had two cars that color, a '67 R/T 440 and a '70 Challenger 340 Sixpack.
