dont use your car for this!!
Was in the process of taking off the street tires and throwing on the ET Streets for Sunday night street racing here in Maryland. I realized that i forgot to grab my small pic that i use to pry off the center cap so since i dont have a garage and didnt feel like walking all the way out back to the shed, i had my key in my pocket so i GENTLY used the key to pry it out. I was amazed (and pissed) that the key snapped off with such little force. Those that have removed their center caps will know how little force is used. Luckily i have 2 keys.
The key cases for my coupe were badly worn. I transferred the security chip and cut key part to aftermarket cases, and it turned out well. You may want to consider doing this with your damaged key. Of course you will need to get the new key blank cut by a locksmith.
