I have been on a spring tear ordering all kinds of stuff for the SRT and sure enough one of the vendors decided to help themselves to an extra $200.00 off my card. Visa is looking into who but I doubt that we be that simple. Goods news they will refund the money.

Even though CarID was the only place we used the card on a wheel order.. we were buying Sams club memberships and tablets in California.. but they have secure servers.. so there was no way..

 

These are inside jobs, someone sells the number to an outsider who uses the numbers over the net/phone.
That's why I have a card for over the net and phone sales, the max is much lower than the usual one I use.

 

That is an excellent strategy!

 

Visa says they will determine the origin of the theft so that will give me a good idea who did it. I will let the forum know.

 

American Express is very diligent about theft. I also have one that is just used online and I look at the balances and charges daily.


And I have two credit union accounts, one for daily accounts & use their bill paying mechanism to send checks.


Long time ago I realized that you cannot hide on the net so I don't bother, just have multiple accounts for different purposes and monitor all closely.

 

Car ID is my guess too.
