Default Collector Car Insurance

Crossfires are now covered by Hagerty & American Collectors Insurance. For Crossfires that are not everyday drivers, this can save some dollars. I was able to insure my 06 Roadster ltd. for $290 a year.

Where are you located? I don't think the state of MA allows Hagerty to insure here, for collector cars.
Unless they are at least 25 years old. BUT I plan to call right now and check.

Just got off the phone with HAGERTY, yup, still the same here in MA. Car has to be over 25 years of age.

I live in Louisiana. For the last 3 years hagerty only insured the SRT models. I have hagerty for my 89 mustang, American Collectors had a better rate
for the crossfire, so I went with them.

290 a year? Are you kidding? Your post spiked my interest so I went to their website and entered all the requested info. My 2008 roadster is really a garage queen that gets driven on special occasions only. So they came back with a congratulation saying my quote is only 440 every 6 months or 879 a year. That's twice what I pay progressive. Too good to be true? Yes!!

Try calling them, I thought LA. had high ins. rates. I called Grundy, they wont write policies in Louisiana. I just got a policy yesterday for $290 a year. I believe the rep told me 2500 miles a year is their limit on my policy. I have know idea how they can check that.

My coupe has been insured with Hagerty since 2008. Price depends on the amount of guaranteed value you want on the car. You can over-insure it if you want to pay the extra. I just dropped the guaranteed value on mine about $2000 and saved a bunch more.

They won't check it... until you file a claim and their claims adjuster reads the odometer.

There was one collector car ins co that said they could cover everything, daily drivers to trailer queens. Only problem was that the total had to be at least a half mil.

Ok, I called and gave all the details, mileage, current and annual, about 1200 miles a year, garage stored, 15k value, perfect driving record, old man, etc. 880 a year! That's hundreds more than I pay with progressive. We do have the 2nd highest car insurance rates here in Michigan, but the disparity between 290 is ludicrous.

That is high, Michigan must be a "sue-happy" state.

Most of it relates to the no fault insurance provision we have called catastrophic claims. There is no ceiling on what insurance companies must pay for permanent accident related injuries. Even with that, the insurance companies are making enormous amounts of money and hosing down their customers.

State Farm in Pa. insures my SRT6 for 290 a year, funny thing is the rates are the same for the N/A, they make no distinction!

Yeah, they take the same amount of time to declare it 'totaled'.....

The most they would insure my 06 roadster for was $10,000. I thought the car was worth more than that, but that was the max.

Then you didn't talk to the right person at Hagerty. You can put any value on your car within reason living in Ohio.
