DUGGH, an idea for oil changes n how old guyz do it.
Today for the first time in a year I pulled out the C and gave it a wash and oil change for the weekend autocross event.
After draining the oil and pulling the filter I started to figure out how to balance a funnel on the oil inlet pipe. Not gonna happen. After thinking for a moment I decided that Iam gonna pore the oil all over the place with adding 9 quarts and that was not going to be a good idea.....????????????
I realized that with the oil filter out I had a PERFECT place for the oil funnel, in the passage of the oil filter !! The hole for the filter was very deep and a good funnel holder. ZIP in went the oil then the filter assembly. No muss no fuss or as I have said for years TAAAAA DAAAA.
Remember to save the old oil rings, they are young o rings and there may be other uses around the garage, just saying.
I have mentioned this long ago, but its worth saying again. Take the smaller of the o rings and use it on the dip stick ( replace that one )to provide a better retention for the dip stick so that if you operate at high revs a lot like me, the dip stick stays put!
Enjoy, W

I did this on first oil change and a huge funnel fits. I forgot that the ability to swallow that oil is still limited and it poured over and got on the front of the engine and the belt. Patience... that's why I'm not a Dr. cause I have none. Good thing I keep engine degreaser around. Pour slowly still to avoid a mess!
