Thank you all!
I just want to express my appreciation for this forum's existence, which I attribute to all of you car-smart Crossfire owners!
Whether you used to post, used to have a Xfire, or are new on the scene, I appreciate the questions asked and the (usually) multiple expert answers that result.
Fortunately, I haven't had to face the sticky ignition issue yet, but I know exactly what to do when it comes.
I'm not saavy enough to do my own maintenance, but now I know that I should supply the right X-mission fluid and ensure they FLUSH it completely...
A couple weeks ago, I was thrilled to learn I could change my burnt out brake light via the top being partially up/down vs. pulling out, and likely breaking the plastic rivits and walls around the trunk!
My 2006 Limited that I bought in 2012 is paid off, which means my pricey 5-year "wrap-around" warranty is now expired. I'm cautiously optimistic that things won't immediately start falling apart, but I'm also relieved to know that I can find solutions to almost all possible problems I might encounter in the next ___ years. (20+, I wish!).
Even though the crossfire isn't new to the scene, it's still a head-turner!
And I still smile most days when I'm walking to it from the office.
THANK YOU ALL!
Sincerely,
~AnissaRose

Thank you, as it takes a whole community to make this machine go. Everyone adds value in some way or another. You should just do the sticky key fix now or soon without waiting for symptoms. Sometimes you don't get much warning. You might be out for a weekend in your fun car when the symptoms set in, and by the time you get home Sunday evening, it might just be toast. I have done a few now, and can do it in less than 2 hours. If there is someone near you who knows how, perhaps you could buy them lunch or something. Don't sleep on the sticky key, or you might be sleeping in your Crossfire on some dark deserted road somewhere.
