Help with P2098 CODE
Help with P2098 CODE
I had my cel checked at the auto store and this is what was told to me Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 2
He suggested I get a diagnostic on my car any thoughts on this.
I was going to pull the TB and clean and replace the O ring first before I buy the sensors.
My limited runs normally should I get an additive for the fuel which one? I fill up with high-octane gas all the time.
I did a search on the forum and will start with the least expensive fix first then work down the line
any suggestions

Google search the code and see what they say for confirmation of my input and other causes.
Re: Help with P2098 CODE
Can you tell any difference in idle smoothness, throttle response, acceleration, or overall performance?
Re: Help with P2098 CODE
Must admit to a little confusion here. By the mention of an O-ring I assume TB means throttle body but am at a loss why it would only affect one bank and not both. Why ?
For things like this have always felt that something affecting both banks was intake and only one, exhaust side but this is evidently not so. Ignorance is curable..

Re: Help with P2098 CODE
The old T.B. O ring had wear and I saw a crack or small grove. I cleaned the T.B. base and where it mounted on the engine. Acceleration was better and much smoother. I really don`t know why it worked and why no more codes. My logic was to do the things that`s least expensive. The sensors were $70+ each.
Re: Help with P2098 CODE
It`s mounted on the rear of the engine.
O ring from Mercedes was $48.00 Rock Auto $7.00 I had to wait 4 days it was well worth the wait. I also changed out my 2 air filters.
My Crossie is rocking and rolling down the road without that check engine light on. Search the forum for step by step instructions...
