Talking Creader test and evaluation

I responded to the offer from xiangguoxiangqing@gmail.com to test the OBDII tester called Creader and I chose to look at the 4001 with the 2.4" screen.

Its a scanner and code reader with a few interesting additions. You have an input that allows you to power it up from your computer to review information.

There is a look up of code definitions and it is capable of scanning most auto data busses.

It is selectable for english chinese and german and it may be in imperial or metric measurments. Other models cover other languages.

There is a feature that is nice where you can graph in time, the response of the engines parameters. This graphically allows you to see a bit more of what is happening in the vehicle.

Of course it will clear codes as well as scan them.Updates are listed as free from the internet. The reader will show the readiness of the vehicle for emissions and freeze frame operating parameters.

With its color display, data is presented in a good manner and being small, you can leave it in the glove box for access.

All in All it seems to be of value and its big brother the cr6011 even records data for review later.

Enjoy Woody

I did receive the Launch CReader 4001 Diagnostic Scan Tool.
It is a really nice unit for the price ( $34 on Amazon with free shipping )
Pros :
Powers up quickly and recognizes our interface.
Runs diagnostics quickly.
Has data streaming mode.
Cons :
Tiny little text, you will need good eyes or a magnifier.
Not easy to follow instruction for updating, but I finally got it done.

Conclusion : I would highly recommend this unit for casual home use.
