Hi I'm looking to buy my first Crossfire, ideally in the colour of the one in pic (although I'm after a coupe) but having trouble working out which grey it is. It looks more blue than graphite grey yet all the machine grey images I've seen look much darker. It looks like a dull UK day so not getting blue from the sky. Unfortunately I took the image from an ad a while back and didn't note the year. Were there any other greys or variations? I've seen machine grey mentioned both as clear coat and crystal pearl - is there a difference in appearance or just US/UK names? Grateful for any clues.
One thing to remember if buying paint for the gray XFires, Chrysler used the same Sales Code (PDR) for both Graphite Gray & Machine Gray. The Chrysler Paint Codes however, were different: Graphite Gray = ZDR; Machine Gray = DDR. Lots of paint suppliers use the Sales Code to identify the car color. As a result, many paint shops will tell you that the colors are the same and it was only a name change. But that is false. If the paint supplier quotes you using the Sales Code, you will have to provide the tint formulation to them: Graphite Gray - PDR/759; Machine Gray = PDR/184. XFire Owners know the colors are different; nearly everyone else doesn't.
