Interior Paint Help?
Got a replacement glovebox today as my old one's plastic was getting beat up by potholes on the road. The new one I have is in perfect shape, but it's white - my stock interior is black. I plan to just use a sponge brush to paint over the white with whatever black color the stock had, but I am not sure what the exact color/paint code is.
Does anyone have a link handy for getting the right black color to match the rest of the interior? Is there one universal black paint used for all the cars?
Thanks!

It's pricey but other people here have said it matches exactly. You can choose your interior color.

I actually spoke to that seller the other day but it seems like it wouldn't be here in at least 2 weeks. I'd prefer not to wait that long to reinstall, but I suppose if it comes down to it. I'm guessing there hasn't been any good finds on Amazon or Duplicolor?
The one selling on EBay is definitely the way to go. Come straight from Germany and matches dash and seats to the “T”! Even if it takes a little while to get here, who cares? Unless you are in a bind to sell, which it doesn’t sound like. This is original paint and the color code is perfect. It’s super worth it while available.
If you are in a bind you can take your car to a decent body shop and have them match the paint from your old console. If they know what they are doing they can match this paint and it will look original. I did that years ago when I stripped the dash/console paint and repainted it completely (out of the car) with the color they mixed at the body shop and you would have never known it was re-painted! When I finally sold the car with 130,000 miles on it, the buyer was surprised as the interior looked like new (colored the leather to fill in wrinkles and re-colored steering wheel).

Do you have to do any other prep for the paint though? I was just going to clean the glove box with some dawn soap then just paint over the original white/alabaster paint.
Yeah you're right. I would prefer not to wait that long for it, but I think it would be worth having in the long-run. Just made an order this morning. We'll see how it goes!
