Default Magnaflow with stock tips

I've been searching through the threads, so if this has been answered, please forgive me. Has anyone managed to install the Magnaflow system and been able to retain the stock tips by having them welded on etc. I'm looking for a louder system, but love those stock exhaust tips.

I'm sure it can be done, just have to do some measureing and get the right width muffler or atleast close....

i have a magnaflow muffler with stock tips. however, the stock tips now extend out a little bit. i actually really like the look, you just have to be careful that your leg does not catch it when opening the trunk.

yeah, it would burn the crap out of you, but it would be difficult to do. it only extends maybe .75 inches out. i think the top of the bumper extends out further than that. it is just something that i thought of being as paranoid as i am about things- especially the things that pertain to my car.

Well that's not to far I was thinking it might be past the bumper , lol I get Mexicans in here all the time wanting me to extend them (all) tips way past the bumper, I just won't do it, and it looks rediculous,

Scooter, so did you just have the stock tips welded on? How difficult was it. Do you have any pics?

Also, I've only had my Xfire for about a month, but looking at your mod list, I have to say that I'm planning to do just about the same as you've done. How much of an improvement have all the mods made? What was the biggest bang for you buck? Who did your ecu? Having done what you've done, are there any mods that you wouldn't do again in hindsight?

Thanks for info!

chuck, those tips look mean. i wouldn't change those.

dkniess, as for mods, they have made a world of difference. i am content and don't plan on doing anything else to this car. many voice concern on this forum about lack of aftermarket parts, but there are plenty (not as many as for a civic, and a lot more than a masarati- the way it should be, i suppose). i've learned A LOT from this forum so definitely do a search on every mod on here before you purchase.

exhaust seems to be the most expensive for the least amount of gain... but sound is awesome. the only upgrade that hasn't been worth it in my opinion, is the pulley. it seems to make a little difference, but only in the high, high rpms.

as for my exhaust tips being welded, i don't know but i imagine so- i had a shop take care of it for me... sorry.
i'll post pics soon.

I asked if this could be done....And I guess I got my answer. I prefer the stock tips look better, it seems as if it is stock until you hear it !
