Default JVC LHX551 looks great

I haven't gotten around to changing the head unit as i had not liked any of the head units available, they were either the wrong silver or had the wrong display colour at night, looking through a car magazine i found the perfect radio.

The silver is bang on as you can see from the pics and the best bit is you can adjust the colour of the illumination to perfectly match your cars illuminated dial colours.

cool

That is excellent. Rounded buttons, even kind of oval pieces. It's a terrific match!

It's discounted because it's a 2006 model, but apparently there are still a few around. In the USA the model was / is the KD-LHX550.

Hi guys, in answer to some of your questions:-

i bought it new on e-bay for £120 or $240 the list price was £500 or $1000 but they are being discounted as there is a new type on the way

It has a line in for ipod/mp3 player, it also has a SD memory card slot

Ian

As this is on the SRT; what wiring harness did you use? The SRT uses a different set up from the standard Xfire due to the rear base subs giving six speakers via a seperate power amp. Standard harnesses, allegedly only provide the four speaker set up. There is a huge thread on this on the forum and no real solutions. Many SRT-6ers would love to know if you have managed to wire in the subs with the change out in the head unit.

the limited n/a crossfire also has the rear subs I'm sure that you'd be fine using the same wiring harness

I justed snagged one of these units, and it is on its way. For those of you that have this unit, does it support/have the J-Bus technology? I would like to get the JVC bluetooth module too, but that requires the J-Bus connector on the head unit.

Thanks in advance,

Mark
