MagnaFlow 16333 Just Installed
This is what a sports car was meant to sound like. Not too loud, just right. Easy Install. I thought of cutting off the tips and using the OEM tips BUT, I actually, like the look of the round tips.
You may want to check your part #, it does not show up on magnaflow or on summitracing.com
Magnaflow mufflers definately sound great, they are not obnoxiously loud like most other aftermarket mufflers.

I bought the same muffler only difference I went with the oval tips. It does sound great for the money. There is a little drown at 2,000 - 2,500 RPM.

Also, do you have any resonance issues?
Thx.
Forum member Z28toXFire has this exhaust on his Coupe and it sound awesome from both inside the car and when I'm following behind him in my Roadster. I want one as I know it will sound great from inside my car with the top down!
I really want to keep my stock tips though and I know it can be done. Any thoughts on the process though? I would install the exhaust myself but welding is beyond my expertise - so do I have the tips swapped out with both exhausts off the car or after the Magnaflow is on the car?

You definitely have to swap the tips before you install it, there's so little room to do anything afterward that welding would be next to impossible. You'll find this out when you try to take the old muffler off those damn rubber hangers just above it. I was like you.......I really like the stock tips....but once I had the oval ones installed I thought they looked great. They are large enough that they really fill out the opening in the bumper. I suggest you trial fit it and have someone hold them in place so you can look at it before you cut the tips off.
MI1XFIRE.......you damn copycat........how am I EVER going to get the edge on you!!

Can't wait to hear what its going to sound like on a Coupe
The rubber hangers right above the muffler are a real b**ch to work with. After reading about other people having a problem with the hangers slipping off the rubber mounts I decided that I was only going to do this once. I took a couple of heavy duty zip-ties from work and used them to hold the rubber hangers together, basically just go through them and tighten the zip-ties to pull them toward the center. I'm just over 2 weeks and not a problem yet.
Like I stated before.......when I first started it up......I thought "wow...I hope they are not always that loud" After a little time, (and a few trips down Milan Dragway) they really sound great. A good deal of the resonation has gone away, leaving a nice deep tone.
With everyone getting an exhaust done, it's starting to look like we have something for the prowlers this year at Woodward!
