Unhappy Max made a mistake (Oh God, NO!)

To everyone I was supposed to send the 270 uF capacitors to, please let me know ASAP if you have received them or not. Some were lost in the mail and some were delivered damaged. It was all my fault, as I sent them in un-padded enveopes in the naive belief that the USPS would do their duty. Wrong.

I'm going on vacation tomorrow through the 27th, but will take some caps and padded mailers with me. I'll check here for PM's and send them from Wisconsin.

Please make sure in your PM's that you include your mailing address and your real name along with your username from the forum.

Sorry again for this. My bad.

Ouch - I have visions of automated mail sorting rollers doing a real number on those.

If you have visions of this-seek help.

I can't bring myself to that...

I feel such the fool. I should know better. I built and installed a machine for the Musee de Louvre for art authentication. I was standing in the street as the shipping container arrived on a flatbed semi for transfer to the ground for unpacking piece by piece and I noticed the container-which was brand-spanking new when it arrived in Wisconsin for me to pack the machine, was bent. They had dropped it 3 meters in La Havre when transferring it from the ship to the dock and it cost the insurance company $1.1 million. And me 8 months rebuilding most of the equipment.
Made me change most of the procedures for packing equipment. I just ASSUMED that a few envelopes could make it 300 miles without damage.

Boy, was I wrong...

Thirty years ago a neighbor of mine was working on setting up an automated mail sorting line. He was watching a guy sort mail by hand and he spotted the guy with a package on which it clearly said 'FRAGILE', the guy shook the parcel and heard no sound so he bounced it on the bench, listened again no sound. determined to see if the package really was fragile he dropped it on the floor, shook and listened again, satisfied now that it was rattling in pieces he put it in the correct box for delivery. Its amazing what people with an IQ of a brick do for entertainment.
Remember parcel mail is shipped in bulk in containers and dumped out of the back, like sand, onto the floor and sometimes people just walk through it, hard to believe but true. This is OK for your bills but not for Grannies crystal vase that you packed so carefully. When you pack something for posting in the mail make sure you cannot hear it rattling in the box and if it is delicate put the box inside another box with more bubble wrap or packing around it as well.

Doc, we're flying. Too little time for the wife, a senior employee of JCPenny who gets a whopping 2 weeks a year and extremely limited times in which to take it. We will fly in tomorrow, come back next Tuesday, leave Wednesday (in the little red buggy!) and drivr to N.C. to meet up with her folks in...Fontana Village! I hope to meet up with Jeff Cobb and hoist a couple. We'll see...

And yes, I plan on taking a couple of stabs at the dragon. Her mom gets carsick and her dad can't sit very long in such a small car for long.

What a shame...

We appreciate the offer my friend. Maybe next year-I would love to toodle around back in the ol' stompin' grounds in her! That would be serious fun!
