Default Engine compartment dress up

Air cleaner cover - Can I paint the top of the air cleaner and if so do I need to use high temp paint or any special prep of the plastic? Will it darken with time and heat? Thanks I've some nice work done on the covers.

Many people have painted theirs, including me. I just used Krylon and haven't seen any problems or changes in color in almost 2 years; I'm sure other people have used better.

Look here for examples: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ngine-bay.html

You should have no problem with either Krylon or Rustoleum. I know for a fact Rustoleum has some pretty cool paints (textures and colors). When I did my engine cover I used Rustoleum Hammered. After it dried you can use an exacto blade to scrape the Crossfire letters clean so they stand out. Also used the same technique to do the Chrysler logo with help from my reading glasses. I'd show you a picture but its wrapped up and put away in favor of the Needswings setup.
By the way I've used the Hammered and the textured Rustoleum paints on my brake calipers and no problems..............

I ran across a young man in San Antonio working in a shopping mall variety type shop
selling Tshirts with original designs. Naturally I blabbermouthed with him for a while and he showed me some of his art. He does T shirts, body tattoos, has a radio talk show, designs clothing and does air brush anything you want. I gave hime him a sample 5x7 picture I had cut out and he said NO PROBLEM! In about 10 days it was finished, portrait, Clear coat, hand rubbed and polished. He is extremely talented and works in an area where as he says, the business is at. He is not cheap but neither is he expensive for the quality of his work. My engine cover on my NA Alabastar/ wih HOK SHIMRIN PEARL "SNOW WHITE".

Very nice work. When I was a kid I was mesmerized by guys like Ed Roth and Mouse who did those monster shirts. Had to have an airbrush myself and I was pretty good at art back in school but I never could come close to what those guys did. I ended up drawing the shirts with a black marker and then coloring them with the airbrush. Airbrushing is quite an art and I admire those who can do it well.
