Default Rustproofing a Crossfire

I've read about the potential for rust along the bottom seams of the doors and how others have reveled it and mitigated it. I was curious what the experience has been when members have had their Crossfires rustproofed. In Toronto, there is alot of salt and brine/chemical solution used. Generally, for me this will not be a problem as I garage the car until April at least.

Still, I've wondered about spending money on rustproofing (Crown or equivalent) in order to best protect the car. I plan on keeping it for a long, long time. So - do people get oil? Rustproofing? Are there issues (slopiness, overspray, gumming up window mechanisms, doors, wiring - things of that type that may be problematic that can be shared? How often do members get this procedure done?

The warranties are not of much interest to me, I just want to protect the car. I've never had one restproofed before.

Any counsel to offer?

I would not rust proof your vehicle unless you get the undercarriage fully cleaned by one of those car washers that pressure wash the undercarriage. Then allow it to fully dry before undercoating it!

I personally would just keep it as clean as possible & rinse it often. Some people recommend using a salt neutralizer after it's driven in the snow & salted roads.

Good luck!
