The spring clip, so long as you didn't lose it (God forbid), just slips 2 prongs into little raised slots in the metal face of the H7 bulb mounting surface.

use a pair of locking pliers (hemostats or surgical clamps) and just do 1 prong at a time.

And tie a thread to the clip before you staryou REALLY don't want to lose a clip.

Sorry to intrude on this topic, but could either of you point me in the direction of aftermarket parts for the Crossfire (for the headlamp)? Mine need to be replaced and the dealership is asking quite a bit for the parts, I think they are overcharging to be honest.

Thanks!
Rob

They are overcharging, but they are expensive as hell no matter how you cut it. Try ebay, a junk yard, or someone on here parting out an XF....

I'll keep a look at eBay (so far nada) and I was thinking about visiting a junk yard. Thanks BoilerUpXFire!

This is what it looks like, of course the connector on the bulb is not there for you.
The spring ends goe into those hinge points, I have found that if you put your finger over the hinge points and you feed the spring end under your finger you can feel it go into the hole. I found that worked better than stabbing around blindly .

Max, are you still making those clips? If you are I would like one or two for spares if possible. The one I sent you for an example was my last spare. Thanks, Larry

This picture is the best one I've seen that shows how it looks.

Would not surprise me if he was still working on them, he is working on a few items for me as well

Larry, if you need one before he is done, just let me know.

I've got all the stuff to make these. I built a little fixture/jig for accurate bends.

I'll whip a couple up for you!

Thanks Boiler but I don't need them just yet. I do tend to drop things at the oddest times so you never know.
