Headlight lens restoring
Steve,
I just went through this exercise a few months ago on my coupe https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...dy-spring.html. I used the 3M headlight restoration kit http://3mcollision.com/3m-headlight-...9008-4218.html. I don't know if you can get it in the UK or not.

My coupe headlight lenses are SO bad I'm gonna pay to get them fixed.
It's embarrassing how bad they look.
Roadster stays in the garage and lenses look super!

My 06’s headlights were becoming foggy in the upper portion and they looked terrible. I bought Mother’s headlight restorer. I was pleased with the overall results, however the lenses were so bad that I had to use 1000 and 2000 grit wet/dry (wet) on the real bad parts, then used the mother’s product. They supply a micro fabric towel; the polish/buffing compound and a small buffing pad. You use your own drill.
After taping around the headlight, on 3-sides (open the hood and you don’t have to tape the top. I used 3-M green, then sanded with the 1000 grit using lots of water, then wiped dry, and again with the 2000 grit and drying once again. Following the directions from there on, I poured a nickel sized amount of buffing compound and began to work it in a back and forth pattern. When finished I polished the covers with Mother’s #7 polish and buffed once again, while not 100% new looking it is a good 94% and at 100 MPH, you’d be hard pressed to see the difference.
Now I’m wondering if I just could have done this without this kit?

Thanks guys for sharing, seems htese plastic light covers are another weak spot of the cars -I've just tried Meguiars Motorcycle Plastic Cleaner/Polish. This is slightly abrasive cream which i rubbed on using a soft cloth. Spent a good 25 mins on it and got quite good results. Would be so much more effective with a drill rather than elbow grease, and will take another couple of sessions to finish the job.
