maxbore.com - he charges $125 for a non-Honda TB bore. I have sent him an email asking specifics.

hows does $80 sound for the stock TB ( trying to keep total cost inline with getting a used 74mm TB )
80 + 125 = $205, ballpark for an internet MB 74mm
( also the shipping charges from you and the maxbore guy )

Never mind, got my reply back :

Hello.
I am almost sure your car uses a Bosch TB.
If it does, I do not bore that brand.
Thank you

That's strange. We have multiple threads here that say otherwise.

Here's one LINK.

Have you ever bored a 68mm Chrysler Crossfire TB out to 74mm ?
( this is a 3.2 Liter Mercedes engine, normally aspirated, drive-by-wire throttle )

You should be able to get a TB from Potomac LKQ wreckers for $80 to $125. get in touch with ? Bartholow, I forgot his first name. They had the TB and MAF on eBay at one time. The MAF was a bit high in the package they had though. I told him the TB should be about $100 to $125.

I did give him a list of Mercedes parts for the Engine cover, intakes through to the TB that Crossfires can use. He was extremely good to deal with, very helpful.

Thanks, 180, BUT
Supposedly he has had me on a list since June when I spoke with him on the phone, but I have seen 2 other listings on ebay from him for 74mm Tb ( missed them both ) and he has never bothered to email/call me. There are now 2 forum members offering their old 68mm's at a reasonable price, and I will get one IF the guy at the boring company cooperates.

I don't REALLY need this, as I don't do drag racing, autocross, or even exceed the speed limit by much, I was just thinking it would be nice to try.

Just finished putting t-bolt clamps on the NW SCAI today after removing and cleaning the 68mm TB.
AT 47K miles, that sucker sure was dirty !!!
