Default 146MPH IN ORLANDO LASTNIGHT!!!!!

Hey everyone.. just incase your curious what your xfire will do i have a graphite gray 6 spd.. completley STOCK.... no upsolute no k&n just stock and decided to see when the speed limiter would kick in... so a friend of mine and I went on the 528 in orlando and couldnt get enough running room so we decided to hit the 417 at about 10pm heading towards sanford .. once we got to the lake jessup bridge we opened it up and it climbed quick.... 4th gear hits between 115-120 and then we just kept it in 5th and it hit the speed limiter at 146ish.. its always good to know what your car can do.. and if anyone is interested in meeting up in the metro orlando area let me know..

Hey Mr. 146 mph! How was the car at that speed? Stable? Noisey? How loud was the wind buffeting? Also, to what rpm did you get up to in 5th before the limiter kicked in?

Had mine at 145mph against a G35 sedan being driven by a jap woman yep a female heheheh. i was one full car length in front. Car EXTREMELY stable and vibration free, feels like you are on rails and the sound is not too intrusive. WOW

I've had mine up to 155 MPH, I just chipped it so I can't wait to try the 165 theoretical top speed.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong... I was under the impression that the XF had a limiter and the car tops out at 150-151 MPH. Chipping therefore should have nothing to do with increasing the top end of the car, right?

Chipping the car eliminates that limiter, now the car will be able to go to redline in top gear.

My speedo might have been wrong, or it may have something to do with a slight downgrade on the road.

Hmmm... that's the first I've heard that. How about the rest of you with chipped cars, any input on this subject???

our factory limiter is 155.

Upsolute has said that they will not remove the limiter unless you have get a legal waiver from a lawler.

The renntech information I have says that their ecu allows the car to raise the speed limiter to 186mph.

ok, that explains it. I thought there was something along that line. Those folks in Mexico aren't as strict as we are here.....

I got mine to about 145 on I-5 here in California. I was racing a Yamaha R1 for a bit. These cars are fast, but it is tough to compete with that bike... still I gave him a run for his money. It all started when he got butt hurt because I went flying by him at 110mph. Then he felt like he had something to prove...It was fun for while, but traffic comes up REALLY quick so I kicked it down to a modest 100mph.

Oh yeah...The car was solid as a rock, but you just have to remember that the steering is oh-so responsive and that it how people get into trouble...
