Hi Folks - More power for the Limited
Hi Folks - More power for the Limited
This is my first contact with all of you.- I live in Bariloche, Argentina, and I am a proud owner of a Black Crossfire Limited Cabrio 2008 with 20.000 miles.- The car is beautiful but lacks horsepower.-
I searched in the web and saw that some members had made deposits to Corky Bell, but his turbo system seems to be relegated or standby.-
Yesterday I made contact with Carl Fausset, who was making another kit - kompressor - for the Limited.- This is his response:

Asunto: RE: Chrysler Crossfire Kit
The kit is near complete - but we lost our test car before we could finish (the customer had to have it back because of a divorce)
So the kit lacks documentation, and tuning.
All I need is a Crossfire lent to me to set it up and finish the kit. The fella that lends us his car for this is going to get free installation.
Tell your friends!
Carl

My car is in the another part of the world, but maybe another member is interested and so this kit sees the daylight!
Your truly.-
Gerardo

Re: Hi Folks - More power for the Limited
Thanks for give attention to this tread.- I am persuaded that light supercharger is the rigt way to gain instant torque and 40/50 Bhp.- Maybe more BHP would need some internal changes, and it would be not cost effective.- You can get in USA an SRT 6. Here in Argentina the importation of Crossfires began in 2006 - no SRT available - and with the dimise of the Daimer-Chrysler consortium, the 15 cars that entered this country - in 3 years...- are like orphans.- I get some better backup in Chile, 200 Miles away.- Due of lack of units nobody has any acceosories for this car, so my car is almost stock.- The only changes I made is a KN Air filter and put conventional tires instead run flats.- Better ride (Many of our roads are bumpy).- The tire puncture issue is put in order with "mousse" (Slime brand).- Great product! And I got OEM floor mats from USA.- A friend brang them in his suitcase. Thats all.- Due to low mileage the only think I made is change all the fluids, filters and sparks plugs.- This car replaced an Ford Cobra Replica I made.- Very fun car, but not very useable.- 12 years of ownership and the magic was gone.- I travel a lot and the Xfire is a perfect trip companion.- Cruises silky smoth at 120 mph for hours (The benefit of live in one of the most inhabitated parts of the world).- By the way: My daily driver is a 2010 Chrysler300 C Hemi (No SRT 8 in Argentina).-

What's an "Unreal American" ?
I would think the only "real Americans" are the native Indian tribe members, and for the most part, they don't give a hoot about soccer.
They are too busy building casinos.

Ann has an opinion and that is it. Doesn't make her un American, just makes her not a soccer fan. I ref'd soccer for 10 years as a FIFA ref. I was glad I had a badge and gun....at the time...lol. Red carding someone could get interesting from the parents... Wet ground and slide tackles in the youth sports got to be a real problem, but the order kids and adults, let the war begin. How she thinks it's not a contact sport shows her ignorance of the game....now back to "don't waste your time or money on either of these unproven modifications. You figure out the importation of an SRT6 and I will sell you one all ready to go.... In fact, I have a connection in Bolivia...maybe I can get him to import it to his country and you can pick it up there. Just sayin'.

Re: Hi Folks - More power for the Limited
There are no chances to import an SRT 6 to my country.- You can import classic cars, with more than 25 years old, and with many restrictions.- Very tricky.- And used cars are totally banned.- Only new cars can be imported but only by offcial represntatives of each make.- So: For me the SRT option doestn exist.- The only way is get some kit or leave tha car stock...

Under the 1st Amendment, she can say what she wants. Doesn't make it so.... She just doesn't like soccer. She really really doesn't like soccer.... OK?
So, you couldn't truck over to Bolivia and pick up an imported car?

Re: Hi Folks - More power for the Limited
Your comment was the opposite of what she said.
Bolivia is a long way from Patagonia, it is at the opposite ends of the country.
Re: Hi Folks - More power for the Limited
I emailed Carl and he called me on Friday. He needs a car as a loaner over the winter, or he is going to try to purchase one. He said he estimated the cost for the parts would be $5-$6k and the person who lent their car would not have to pay any labor.
He also said they had a car that was running under boost, but before they could test the car, the folks got divorced and it had to be put back to stock and returned. Carl seems very genuine and when you look at what he has done for the porsche and ferrari guys, you see he is the real deal.
Currently, I don't have $5-$6k laying around for this project, but I wanted to put it out there in the hopes that some adventerous soul (DJ, I'm looking at you ) would be able to step up.
The only downside, in my opinion is that we are basicallty shooting for stock SRT numbers. While impressive, I don't know if keeping my 6MT is worth $6k+
Thoughts?

Re: Hi Folks - More power for the Limited
Well, I really hope he pulls it off. Those would be pretty good numbers with a stick behind it. I wonder what the torque would be and what the curve would look like. I think it would be pretty sweet, the only downside IMHO is you're topped out at that point. The only way to keep going is internal mods to support more. Maybe not to get a little more, but at some point you would really have to worry about it.
Re: Hi Folks - More power for the Limited
Pardon me for sounding dense... But why go through all the trouble when for nearly the same investment you would have an engine built for boost, plus all the goodies that come with it? And if a faster SRT is just a pulley swap away...?
Again, genuine question, not flaming the concept.
