Manual transmission won’t go into gear when car is on
Hello everyone, I am seeking advice about my base 2005 crossfire with the 6-speed manual. When the car is off, I can cycle through the gears with little to no resistance. However when the car is started, usually just first, but sometimes all gears refuse to go in. Most times I can shift into fourth then first and the car will be fine. Others I have to keep the clutch depressed for several seconds, then it will accept first gear. I do not know if this is a crossfire issue or manual transmission issue, but it is starting to become undrivable, despite shifting completely smooth after getting it going.
other information: 2005, 97107 miles, I don’t believe the transmission has ever been serviced in any way.
if you have any questions please ask, I need help!

I appreciate your response and will look in to it. Any idea if this is something I can fix myself? Or should I just find a shop...
If it's the throw out bearing you would have to drop the tranny. With those miles you might as well replace the clutch while it is apart. It all would have to be done from underneath, depends on you mechanical abilities and time.
I have never even done an oil change, but I know how it works. Probably far cheaper to do it myself too. My guess is $2500 for clutch and throw out replacement
