Default transmission issues

Hi recently I was under my car doing an oil change and noticed that there is a small hole in my transmission that is leaking fluid. I haven’t had any issues shifting through gears but occasionally while driving I will get a burning rubber smell everytime I hold the clutch in for more than a few seconds that may or may not be related to the leak. I am looking for advice on this because I showed a few friends who are more mechanically inclined than I and they told me to just ignore it, what are your guys thoughts?

I

My thoughts are those friends will not pay for a new transmission (or related) if a failure happens anytime sooner or later. Roll the dice if you choose.

That hole is there to drain off a leak from either the rear main seal of the engine or the front seal on the transmission. There is also an inspection plate forward of that hole. (black plastic cover)
Can you tell what is leaking? engine oil or transmission. I'm not familiar with the standard transmission, so hopefully someone else can chime in with more specific info. Having any fluid back there where the clutch contacts the flywheel is not a condition you can over look.
