Default Radios Question

Are the pin connectors pretty standard? I mean, if I were to find another audio unit I liked better than the OEM, would it, in general, be a problem with connecting it? Or, does one have to modify in order for the antenna lead and/or pin connection to fit?

Shouldn't I be able to just slide in another unit and connect as I do the OEM?

Just curious, thanks!

you'll need a Scosche VW01 wiring adapter (free if you order from www.crutchfield.com or www.sounddomain.com) and a Metra 40-EU10 antenna adapter (Best Buy, Circuit City, $15) to install a new head unit.

I upgraded mine a couple weeks ago it was very easy to do but you will need to change to wires around on the connector to make the new head unit work properly. Basically you need to reverse the constant 12 volt power wire and the switched 12 volt wire. E-mail me at: frank-hasbrouck@peoplepc.com for more info. I put in a sony head unit and changer that sound 100% better than the stock.

Thanks, Frank! I don't have a replacement in mind, but in the future, if I want to change out my OEM unit for a better one, I shall save your information.

Thanks!
