Bump... I figured this had to be on here somewhere. hehe.

Rage Against the Machine - Rage Against the Machine. The whole CD with the guy on fire on the cover. Still ahead of its time.

Billy Joel - 12 Gardens, disc 2. Billy Joel live at Madison Square Gardens. Great stuff if you like him. "Thank you, good night, New York! ... Don't take any **** from anyone!" That's how you close a show. lol

Mostly I listen to CD's that I make myself of whatever I'm in the mood for that day.

Good find. I am a music addict and rarely leave the house without the ipod with around 1,400 songs - that way I've got a little of everything. My separate hard drive for the PC has ~ 13,000 tracks on it.

Groups/Artists that I can think of; how about a top 10 that I ALWAYS have with me:
1. The Beatles
2. Dave Matthews Band (going to see them in Motown in August, anybody else going?)
3. Marvin Gaye
4. Otis Redding
5. Rolling Stones
6. Paul McCartney (solo stuff or with Wings)
7. John Lennon (solo stuff)
8. Led Zeppelin
9. Van Morrison
10. Simon and Garfunkel

and many, many more.

If it's not heavy, classic, or technical, I probably won't listen to it.

Metallica, Lamb of God, Pantera, Trivium, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Machine Head, Dream Theater, Megadeth, Cannibal Corpse, Alice In Chains, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath...

I can't stand emo, pop, alternative, crappy new metal bands like Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park, poser bands like Nickelback and Puddle of Mud, and that pop punk crap or new school rap.

If you can forget that Rob Halford is gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) and ignore the scary double entendres that come with that knowledge... Judas Priest - Turbo Lover.

PS, hope you don't mind me borrowing that parenthetical reference, FP.

I listen to various genres of music, but the VERY FIRST CD that I played in my SRT-6 was "Continuum", by John Mayer. It stayed in the single slot for about a week before I ever thought to change it. Some of my other favorites include:

Marcus Miller...Wayman Tisdale(yeah, the old basketball player)...Jonathan Butler...Dave Gruisin...J. Coltrane...Miles...Gyptian...Beres Hammond...too many to name...I think I left that John Mayer CD in my car after I traveled back over to Iraq.

Great stock Infiniti gear...

I left out my favorite Boy-bands.

Just kidding folks - I only listen to Jazz. Hot - Modern and old school.

I gave up on Rock-n-Roll. All the songs I knew as kid are now commercials for blue jeans, automobiles or credit cards. I no longer consider the groups "Artists" or "Musicians".

I categorize them as "Advertising sound-bite technicians".

I grew up with these groups telling me not to let the "MAN" wave his plastic finger at me - now they try to sell it to me.
