Default Harness Adapter?

I just got off the phone with Crutchfield and they said I would have to run wires from the new head unit to the front and rear speakers. I thought they have an adapter or harness or something that can be used but they said no. Is this true? Has anybody changed their head unit and used a Harness or adapter? If so where do I find out about getting one. I do not want to start tearing apart my car to run speaker wires. Nor do I want to pay $150 to have a $175 head unit installed. That is the cost to have the head unit and rewire done.

Just get a wire harness and hook up to the factory plug. Do a search on stereo and/or stereo install lots of us have replaced the head unit. It's a cake walk. Plenty of info on this forum about stereo's.

Default Re: Harness Adapter?

It is a vw adapter If I remember correctly.
There is one wire that need to be hooked up different than the instructions I had that turns on the amp.
Just wire the speaker at the connector to the front speakers if you have no sound you need to check the wire for the amp.
Search the forum, plenty of info.
