I Pod connections help
I have an '05 LTD and would like to get a direct connection for my I pod, I still have the factory installed Infinity stereo system and would like to leave it in. Is there any way this can be done without changing the radio system, and if so what should the cost range be ?

I upgraded to a new head unit that has the iPod controls on the front of the head unit itself. I know most of the major brands have iPod compatible units now, but mine is an Alpine. The head unit was about $350 and the iPod cable was around $20. The only problem I have with it is that there is no "menu" button when you are listening to a playlist that will list the playlist again. Other than that, it works like a charm. I've never had a CD in the thing since I installed it. I always use the iPod.
Here is the FM Modulator I installed in my car. It connects directly in the car antenna (so we also need the converter kit). It worked out great; the device filters out the unwanted signal coming thru the car antenna. It all fit behind the dash under the stereo.

Michael,
The only option currently available for your car is the iPod FM Modulator. The difference between this and the radio specific iPod Kit is that you cannot control your iPod from your radio or steering wheel controls. But it does charge your iPod as the ice>Plus does.
On the plus side these are about £30 less than the radio specific ice>Link Plus kits. Also please do not confuse these with FM Transmitters that are of inferior quality to the hard wired Dension ice>Link FM Modulator. The Dension ice>Link FM Modulator is a hard wired product meaning that all interference is elimated.
We used to sell the cheap FM Transmitters but had a returns rate of close on 70%, so beware!

*Please note the cradle is incompatible with the 30GB Photo iPod and you will need to order a dock cable with it instead.
Also to mount this to your dash you'll need a damage-free mounting bracket specific to your car make and model.
