Door panel removal
Hello all,
I'm the proud new owner of an '06 coupe and I'm in the process of trying to get the stereo from my old car installed in the crossfire. I spent this morning hooking up the head unit and running wires for the amp (incidentally, the JVC KD-G720 head unit from my old car matches the center console very well). I have everything hooked up except the component speakers for the door (waiting on crutchfield to deliver the goods
). In case the install instructions aren't forthcoming enough, I was wondering if any of the car stereo guru's here could clue me in on the easiest way to remove the door panels. As you can imagine, I want to avoid poking and prying more than is necessary to get to the speaker enclosures.

cheers,

Looking at the door panel on my '06 Ltd coupe, it does not match the door panel illustrated in the link above. I am interested in tightening the door panel - it has some movement that I think is contributing to plastic squeaking. My wife's '06 has the same door panel and no noise what so ever. Does anyone have and illustration of the '06 door panel? If not, can anyone tell me how to access the screws that I suspect to be located on each end of the chromed handle used to close the door? Thanks.

The chrome door handle splits in half along the top and bottom groove. You need to push and pry on it with a plastic wedge tool. You push down or in and pry out at the same time.
Isn't that the door panel of an SLK 230?
