How far should the key FOB reach?
I was walking out from the mall yesterday and wanted to test out how far the key FOB would reach from. I tested with the panic button since there is no audible notification when you lock/unlock. It didn't work until I was less than 25 or 30 ft. from the car.
Is this normal?
How long is it supposed to reach? Thanks!

Holding the fob under your chin will allow it to go as far as 100 feet. I do it on our dealership lot all the time. Also, the signal for panic will travel farther than unlock/lock will

My panic button only worked from about 30 feet away. Do you think a battery replacement would do the trick?
Well Im not sure. I think it has to do with line of site, the way your car is facing, and the battery life. I just know t hat if I put the fob under my chin I am able to set of the alarm from my desk and my car is accross the parking lot, accross the street and then through another lot.

Don't ask me how I know this.

The shape of your butt acts like a parabolic dish which results in a greatly increased range.
As for the key release button, some are rumored to enjoy the experience!
