Default Nav disk ??

I have a 08 Crossfire coupe with the Nav radio. Problem is the navigation disk suck.
From what I have read here, there is no way to get current disk and I really don't think it is fair that I have to buy a new system, when I paid 1200 for this on.

I don't see how Chrysler can just drop the ball on this just becuase they are not going to make this car anymore, they still have to take care of the people the own them.

I too, along with all of the other Crossfire owners with the Infinity NAV radio package feel your pain and frustration. There are things that in the hands of Chrysler/MB to control and things that are really controled by the NAV system manufacturer and/or NAV software provider. That would be NAVTEQ (www.navigation.com) in this case. Obviously it costs money to create any new software update (just ask Microsoft). In this case, technology has moved on to DVD. This system is CD based and all the new stuff is coming out on DVDs. That may be too simplistic an answer, but it's like asking Microsoft to make Ofiice 2008 run on Windows 95 OS. Ain't gonna happen, no longer supported. But based on the cost of this original system option, NAVTEQ should bite the bullet and help us all out here (at least that is what I've been asking them to do).

You can sign up at their web site address (above) and they will notify you if/when a new NAV disk update is released, but don't hold your breath on this ever happening. I just sent another nice email to the folks at NAVTEQ and I'll let you know if they reply. All NAV system owners may wish to do the same. POWER in NUMBERS !!!!

I wish they'd open-source the firmware, development tools, and data formats. If they're not going to give us any updates, let us update it ourselves.
