Default head unit swap...stock amp interface

does the stock head unit have 4 channel outputs that go to the factory amp, or just 2?

I'm curious bc I am thinking about swapping head units and adding something simple like an amped tube or basslink...just wondered if there is anything I need to know about the input voltage that would match the signal strenth shown from the stock head unit.

search around and you can find your answer, but basically if you're looking to simply ADD a basslink, you're going to be connecting the H/U like the How-To thread suggests. and then using a free set of pre-outs for the sub like normal, pretty straight-forward.

they all come with at least one output don't they? But I upgraded the head unit first, and a month later, had the sub installed.

I have a write-up for that very thing (replace head unit and install BassLink) on my web site.

Click

There are also references to it here in the forum.

It's not complicated. You don't touch the factory wiring. Just wire in the harness connector to your replacement head unit. The "front" wires go from your head unit into the harness; the "rear" wires go from your head unit into the external amp/subwoofer (e.g. BassLink).

If you install the Basslink you have to run the blue wire from your head unit (remote power on) to the Basslink. You need to run power from the Battery to the Basslink. You need to ground the Basslink.

AND you need to run wire to connect the remote gain control **** to the Basslink.

Basslink install
