i couldn't resist and picked up a second for my girlfriend cougar, heck walmart sells regular ol batteries for around 45-75 bucks a red top for a bill is amazing. I plan to exchange hers out under warranty since she has been having issues and then just return it for store credit. plan to throw an optima in both our cars. i think he has one left and it is selling for lower than used redtops in worse conditions. Atleast you can punch out your own dates and say you just bought it.

well I had the battery installed. the price for the battery was 170. I also had them run my power wire directly off of the battery, and upgrade the ground wire while they were in there. It was a 34/78 size battery, and the posts are on the fender side of the car, still positive towards the rear of the car. It is a close fit. So now I just need to go from battery to alternator, and engine to ground. I couldn't tell if the headlights dimmed after install, but the bass was much more consistant. Now I have to change all of my settings on my headunit, so the front speakers aren't getting too much bass. I forgot to write down how they had everything set, but I think it is close. Good luck with those red tops! I'm sure I'll have an update on the dimming lights. thanks everybody for all of the info. I did find some negative comments with the optima batteries, like the battery dying right after the warranty expired, but you never know how they have been treated, and everyone has their own opinions. I called around to some different audio shops, and they all recommended the svr, or stinger battery. Well see how it goes. Thanks again, chris
