Blaupunkt Casablanca MP56 head unit - Europe only
Just installed the UK version of the Blaupunkt St Louis - the Casablanca MP56.
You will know from threads about the St Louis that it is a perfect match for our silver consoles, and that the illumination can be set to match the dash lighting.
The sound is a VAST improvement over the Infinity system, and radio reception is infinitely better.
BUT, whilst the St Louis is truly plug and play, the Casablanca requires slight modification.
The radio ariel fitting needs a simple adaptor (bought mine in Halfords). The rear connections fit, but just plugging them in as they are results in the unit locking in "TELEPHONE" mode. To overcome this, you need to snip the pair of wires going to pin #2 on the terminal block. This immediately unlocks the head unit and it is ready for use.
I have only posted this because the installation guide gives no helpful advice regarding this problem. I hope this helps someone!
