Default ok I did something wrong

So I have read a few of the threads on aftermarket stereo install. I have this old head unit that I pulled outta my truck before I got the xfire. I did the switch of the red and yellow wire and now the radio retains no settings after the car is powered off..... so IDK what I did wrong but I am guessing I am going to have to pull the harness and check my connections. I just am not looking forward to pulling the deck and harness and cutting my srinkwrap.... cry o'well
heres some pic's to get some reads. if anyone has any idea's let me know please

finished

harness

ipod is more import then glovebox light

yay its my ride and so many things to come... just hope the money doesnt run out before I'm ready for a break.

I believe that the red should go to a permanet +12v and the yellow goes to a switched +12v

Well that's what I was thinking but someone said to switch the yellow and red wires and that's what I did I wonder if they got smart and switched the harness to auto correct this
