Default head unit question

I really like all the posts about the different head units that can be used for the crossfire.

I recently talked to a local audio shop owner and he mentioned that if i wanted to install any kind of head unit on my 2006 crossfire, I would have to buy a "chrysler modulator" for the car or else i will have problems in the future.

Is this something that you guys bought? or is it just some kind of way to get more $$$ from my wallet?

thanks guys

First I have ever heard of that. I did not put a modulator in mine when I replaced the HU.

Curious what he's trying to sell. Ask him what it does, or something.

You don't need anything with the headunit. Although, you should really, really, get a wiring harness so you don't have to splice your factory wires...but that's about it.. and the antenna adapter (in most cases)

My boss has a 97 Corvette. He's having problems with his CD player. It won't eject. It's a 12 pack and it's getting juice. Does anyone have any suggestions or know where he can purchase a new unit?

Hey SRT SIX! I'm looking at buying the same HU that you have in the photo. Have you had any problems with it? My main concern is the compatibility with my iPhone 3Gs. I'd appreciate any info you can offer!

No problems at all. Great sound, great price. I also like the subtle "C" shape on the front.

The Bluetooth is by far the best I have ever seen. Synchs up immediately. I am using AT&T 3G, but not the iPhone. Very good noise cancellation. They installed a by-pass switch that allows me to dial while the car is in gear.

Thanks for the reply! I'm glad to hear this one is working out for you... after all of the research, this is still the front runner.

Clarion seems to make great products as I've also been looking at the NZ500. I'm sure I would be happy buying either one if I found it for the right price! On a college student's budget, deck shopping isn't easy. =) Thanks again!

I've also been looking at the JVC KD-AVX77. Anyone have any experience with this one?

I got a JVC KD-HDR60 and the Scosche VW01B connector. I just now completed the hook up and turned the thing on. The receiver works, lights up, changes stations, etc. however I get absolutely nothing from the speakers. Not even a buzz.

I have the limited but have read on this forum that this hook up should work. Is there something that I am overlooking.

I know from reading this forum that there are numerous people who know what the problem is and I hope you can help me.

Thanks in advance.
