Default Room for subs

Don't know if this has been posted before but I was removing my central locking pump and snapped a couple of pics with my cell. Looks like you could hide a couple of subs here without sacrificing trunk space. The pump would need to be relocated(where wires are on passenger side) but I bet a couple of 10's or 12's would be right at home here.

If you look at the first pic I posted(where the dynamat is visible) and look at the left side half way up there is an access hole(just out of view) to get to the brake and blinker lights. I think it would fit in there but you would have to alter the sound deadening material that is around the pump.

If you relocate that little black box with the foam around it you will have plenty of room to throw in some 10" subs on the floor. Just put the steel covers over them for pertection and you are all set!

I have 2 6.5" subs in a custom built box there, and on the otherside is my amp, I also put my central locking pump through the little hole behind the taillight, I love it!!!

Here this crossfire has what you are trying to do. It shows the two subs but not the underneath part where the box is in the emergancy well. Hope this kinda helps.

On a side note what does the front and the back side of the wall behind the seats look like with out carpet or plastic on it? Any one have pictures? I might get one once I sell my Solstice, but want to know if would be a difficult project to put subs on the back side and component speakers in the front side. Still need to go drive one though to make sure I want to give up my Solstice.

I do not have any pics of the area, but I did exactly what you are referring to. In the limited model there are 2 midbass drivers behind the driver and passenger seats. Only 1 set of components though. In the base model there is nothing behind the seats and 1 set of components. I put a second full set of components behind my seats and 2 12's in the trunk. I can honestly say with 2 nice sets of components and 2 12's, it is too loud, but I love it

You can not install anything in the back of the wall because that is the gas tank, but as long as you do the subs in the floor (as they are discussing) or a box just set in the trunk (as I have done, to be able to remove for long trips and such) you will be good to go.

Hope this helps.

John
