Default Only uneven Radio frequencies??

Well, my car finally arrived from the States and its back in its country of birth

I picked it up yesterday and tried to get my fav. radio station tuned in at frequency 98.8 FM.But it only lets me tune in on either 98.7 or 98.9...... Is it just mine or are we not able to tune in into even frequencies i.e 88.8 or 103.4??

Found nothing via search or in the owners manuel......

Any one else have the problem/solution?

Cheers!

In the US, FM radio stations only use odd frequencies, so unless someone knows of a modification that you can make to the radio, you will not be able to access the stations on even frequencies.

Hey Germany ... Geez, thats interesting ..... U.S. > odd & Europe > even? Maybe find a person from Germany shipping a xFire to the U.S. and trade radios? Might be easier just to buy a new head unit, and keep the US radio in case you send it back. Just saying ...

We have uneven and even frequencies here, thats why I was wondering. At least have some stations I can choose from...

I just read on another forum that someone imported a Challenger from the US and had the dealership re-programm the RCM with the German parameters allowing the radio to choose even frequencies....Mhm.... We'll, I guess I have to call the stealership on monday and find out if its possible/how much and listen to CD's for a while..

God damn, why go the easy way if you can make it complicated!

Back in the day, most aftermarket head units came with a switch in the back to choose European or North American standard.

Good luck?

Yeah, I read somewhere else that supposedly all you need is an OBD II reader to re-code. I will call our local Bosch service guy on monday, maybe he can help!
