Default Help with Antenna Adapters

I have a factory Infinity head unit without nav. I am looking to give the Alpine DPR-RDS1 wired modulator a try. There is one other forum member who has installed one of these, but hasn't signed on since last year, so I doubt I will be able to get a hold of him.

Here is the link where he vaguely outlines the install:

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/467423-post1.html

He referenced two adapters he needed:

12040VW21 Motorola/Female to Volk/Male Antenna Adapter
12040VW12 Motorola/Male to Volk/Female Antenna Adapter

These totaled right around $20.00 together. After doing some research, I discovered he must be a resident of Canada, as Crutchfields only offers these on their Canadian website. I just got off the phone with Crutchfields US and was pitched two adapters totaling $40.00.

Antenna Adapter Works with select 1999-up vehicles (Motorola male to OEM antenna female) at Crutchfield.com

I really would like to avoid paying $40.00 for the adapters, so I need some help. Please advise. Thanks!

The antenna adapters he had listed work with the factory nav unit but not the non-nav unit.

They have the antenna adapters you'll need at Best Buy. They had mine.

Ken, do you happen to remember the specific products from Best Buy so that I can research before buying? Thanks.

If you can't find the Alpine modulator (discontinued), Scosche has one available as well. The Scosche FMMOD02 is a very straight forward install and is only $50 from Crutchfield. You still need the 12040VW21 and 12040VW12 adapters (also available thru Crutchfield) to hook it up to the Infinity nav unit, but it's a simple red wire/black wire power run. Shouldn't take any more than 30 minutes, tops. Most of that time is running the power wires.

This will work with the Infinity nav unit, but I'm not sure about the non-nav unit as I don't know what the back of that unit looks like.

This is a good alternative to the $200+ unit for sale on the site.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. Could anyone provide me with any instructions on how to connect this thing? Like which wires go to what?
