Default Music Buff, but not a technical one

Hi All! I just had my infinity (non-NAV) head unit replaced, but now its volume is way too low, even on the highest setting. The radio is loud, which is ok, but useless around here since there are only two decent channels. When I play the same song, via CD/DVD/SD Card or USB Flash Drive, it results in the same volume level, which is TOO LOW (especially with the top down). Now I know there's supposed to be an amp under the passenger seat, but.. is it hiding under a floorboard? WHen I look under the seat, I think I'm only seeing the power module for moving the seat, there's no silver box that would be an amp. I can play and tune instruments all day long, but when it comes to this electrical voodoo, I am at a loss. Please help!

P.S. New receiver stats: 4-channel, 2-volt preamp RCA outputs
Viariable 2-volt Subwoofer output with low-pass crossover
52x4 MOSFET Powered Speaker Level Outputs...etc..

Thanks!
~AJ

The amp is under the carpet at the front of the passenger foot well.
I am pretty sure your issue is that you used the 2volt pre-amp outputs, this is NOT enough voltage for the Infinity amp, it is happy with 3.5 to 4 volts input.
I suggest you change the wiring to send the new head units SPEAKER OUT signals to the amp instead of the pre-amp outputs.

( I had same problem with an Alpine I installed, worked OK, but just not loud enough. Changed it to drive the amp with the speaker outputs and now it is fine )
