Default Blown Rear Subs? No problem!

If you have blown your rear subs (or they have deteriorated due to age like mine) and are looking for a solution to keep your subs as OEM as possible, check out The Speaker Exchange in Tampa. They repair them for $40 each. If you have experience reconing a speaker, you can buy the recone/refoam kits for as little as $7. I just had to share this find since dual voice coil speakers are almost impossible to come across for our cars.

Here is their website:

Good to know. I wish they were a little closer to me. I should try to find a place in Denver that would do the same.

mine have aged poorly and the foam have disintegrated. Did you purchase a repair kit (which kit) or did you have them repair it?

I have a pair of stock subs, if someone wants to make me an offer for them as core parts, I'll send them to this place to have them re-foamed. PM me for details and pics of the cores. No damage at all, just a separation where the foam meets the cone.

I did mine along time ago and they work like new. Of course when I mentioned it on here I was basically told ..why repair when you can get new ones.

The special thing about these speakers....1 they sound good with a good headunit of course, 2 they fit without having to hack up any pieces of the car. 3 did i mention they sound good... at least mine sound fantastic...plus I am not going to drop alot of $$$ on a stereo system when I could have better things to make the car look great

There are a bunch of FSK-6.5 kits on their site, which one did you use for the stock subs?
