Default What is the black wire on the stock nav radio for

I am wiring up my new Clarion m502 stereo and need to know what the black single wire coming off the stock nav head unit is for?
Do i need to connect this to the new radios wiring harness? Or just tape it up and leave unconnected?
I am using the docs he wiring harness to splice on to the new radios wiring

Happens to me all the time. I get done with a project and find all these extra wires and parts without a purpose.

J/K!!!
