Light out indicator
Last year I hard wired a dash cam into the car. I ran the cables to the fuse panel in the end of the dash, I used the fuse type of add on circuit adapter. Immediately the bulb out indicator light came on, I planned on moving the circuit to the under hood fuse box. I never got around to it, it being among other things I had planned to do over the winter.
Anyway I started the car today and I saw the light on, a minute or so later the light started flickering and it then went out.
Later I started the car and it came back on. I'll be driving the car tomorrow and I'll see if it goes off.
I cannot see how it would have tripped the light to come on in the first place.
Anyone have any ideas here?

Like you said, the issue probably isn't related to your dashcam instalation. I suppose it could be a broken bulb element making intermittent contact, varying in resistance value. Are you using canbus bulbs?
I'll just keep an eye on the light.
Dave, wire in an incandescent bulb to the hot wire if the light goes out you know what's tripping the indicator. I use the low voltage ones that are commonly used to illuminate ashtrays.
The extra load of the DC is tripping the light.

I guess I'll have to wire it to the under hood fuse panel.
