Default Radio LED settings

On page 118 of my owners manual under the headind 'USER MENU' it say:
The following functions can be customized to your personel needs in the user menu:
* USER- User memory
* M/S - Mono/Stereo settings
* DRIVER - Left/Right Hand Drive Setting
* PHONE - Telephone Characteristics
* LED - LED Setting
It explains how to adjust all the settings EXCEPT 'LED Settings'. It looks like DC forgot to add that page. Does anybody have the steps to adjust the LED Settings ? And if you do what are they ?
THANKS

There isn't an option for setting the LED in the factory head unit. The manual lists it but you can not change the settings. Is there even an LED in the factory radio?

It is an option in my Becker and I can turn the flashing on or off.

I as well just had my radio replaced due to a dim display. The old display is green and the new radio has a black background. Only took a week to come in and was installed in 30 minutes. All under warranty.

You have the newer (revised) radio, no dimming problem.

Thanks, but that is the quote that put me in question.

The way I read it, it says "the new radio has a black background" but my background is green and the actual lettering is black.

Now I'm a little confused. An earlier post in an other thread/section said:

If anyone has a picture of his new radio would be great.

Thanks.

Basically the old radio had an "inverted" display, the background pixels were on, so black, and the lettering was off, allowing the backlight to show through, so green.

The new radio's display works more like a normal LCD, so the backlight shows everywhere and the lettering is Black where the crystals are on and so black.

I'll put a picture of the old radio in my gallery after I post this.

Hey mouserider, thanks for the picture. I thought that I already have the new one, which you proved with the photo.

Thanks

Is this a warranty or TSB related thing? I have the old style radio and I would really like to get it replaced! Does anyone have a bulletin number or something I can reference when I talk to the dealer?

The TSB is number 08-036-03, SUBJECT: Radio Display. My local dealer was able to get the radio in a day and it took all of 10 minutes to change it out. The only hitch was I had forgotten to take the CD out of the player when they changed it. A few days latter, I got a call from the parts manager saying that they had shipped back the CD from the warehouse and I could come in and pick it up.

Thanks Rick. I'm about due for a service "B" soon so, hopefully I can get them to take care of both at the same time.
