Default Recommendations for single DIN Modern In Dash Radio replacement !!

I have a 2005 Crossfire Limited Roadster and I want to upgrade the current infinity navigation radio.

Prefer silver faceplate to match the silver dash, but would consider a black faceplate if better quality.

Does anyone know of any radios with media connections that could easily be switched....AND any recommendations for door replacement speakers?????

What are come of your experiences using some of the modern updated auto in dash units.

Thank you for sharing you expertise !!!

Not sure what features you would be looking for in a "modern" radio replacement.
But one thing nobody seems to talk about here is having the existing radio modified by Becker (the original manufacturer), to provide an auxiliary input.
I sent my factory radio to them, and they added an internal Bluetooth interface inside the unit.
So when I enter the car, my phone automatically connects to the radio, and I can stream music from my phone, from my Sirius satellite subscription directly into the radio.
The Bluetooth is only for music, you can't use the phone through the radio for calls, just music.
Cost for this factory modification was $148. including paying their shipping.

They will also alternately add an audio input cable with jack that you can mount the jack (like inside the armrest) if you'd rather use a cable.
For a single-DIN radios, I think that does a majority of what you might want.

Just had this Pioneer unit installed in our Crossfire. It uses your cell phone for the display. Works very well. Has all the bells and whistles for $149!
It also works without the cell phone display for music.

That Pioneer looks really great! I especially like the way it links with my iPhone!

Did you install it yourself? If so, how difficult was the installation?

I'm lucky. I have a Best Buy in Tampa that has a young man that is a real pro. Former Air Force tech . They have a program for $200 a year that pays for ALL installs of best buy products for a year. That includes in home. I can even purchase things not at best buy..like the pioneer unit, and the install at best buy is covered free.
