Cheapest way to install Audio Noise Insulation and dampening
What is everyone using for noise insulation? I see so many types and I have never done this in a car but the SRT-6 is a keeper and I have all the cargo panels out anyway in the coupe so why not use some? any suggestions?
I installed kill Matt butyl insulation on the underside of the roof when I removed the headliner. It is 50 mill thick self-adhesive and foil backed. Amazon sells it in a 50 square-foot kit for $59.99. I think I used seven sheets for the roof and will probably do the doors and possibly rear wheel wells if I get motivated to remove interior panels. It would be a good idea to combine the butyl insulation with close cell foam for dampening.
I have the rear panels out now and wanted to do it while they are out. I saw the mats and will order them.
I had some left from another project that I will use and then buy the 60.00 package from amazon to finish. Most of the noise comes from the hatch area which is where I will start.
