Find someone with one of those sitting on the shelf, they were in the first few production cars.

That, I don't know.
I did once have possession of one of those original radios, can't remember what happened to it now, but it is gone.

I have one of the early reverse display HU units in my cupboard. I understood the nav units were first available for MY 2005, which leads me to guess the reverse display was never offered in the nav unit, could be wrong.

Those radios were in the early 2004 Crossfires, and were replaced under warranty if a customer complained about them. Technical Service Bulletin 08-036-03 covers the replacement of the original black background (negative display) "hard to read in bright sunlight" radios with the newer light background radio.

My ssb coupe had the black back ground and it was serial # 001858 so there could be a few out there if they weren't replaced by the dealers.
